Sine was a sculpture that addressed the future function of its site, the materiality of the current immediate landscape, and its visibility to pedestrians, residents, and professionals of the neighboring buildings. Inspired by the creativity, performance, and movement that will flourish in the area with the establishment of the Constellation Center, Sine reflected the meeting of arts with the sciences that have excelled in the Kendall Square area for decades. The sculpture lined up into sound-wave patterns as if to foreshadow the music and energy that will subsequently fill the space.
